Abametapir 是一种金属蛋白酶 (MMP) 抑制剂，能够靶向对卵孵化和虱子发育至关重要的金属蛋白酶。Abametapir 对头虱和体虱的孵化均有抑制作用。

Abametapir is a metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor which is able to target metalloproteinases critical to egg hatching and louse development. Abametapir can inhibit hatching of both head and body louse.

Abametapir is capable of chelating heavy metal ions, including iron, copper, and zinc, and is therefore able to interact with a range of targets within the insect that require metal co-factors for function, including metalloproteinases.
