Loxosceles Bergeri Venom is a venom that can be obtained from Loxosceles Bergeri. The venom of the Loxosceles spiders is a complex mixture of toxins enriched by proteins, glycoproteins and low molecular mass peptides. Several protein classes have been identified including astacin-like metalloprotease, low molecular mass insecticidal peptides, the inhibitor cysine knot peptides (ICK) and phospholipase-D. The unique enzyme, sphingomyelinase D is responsible for the development of the necrosis.
